We just watched the Battle for Terra. Write out, you can use bullet points for some of the ideas, what points of worldview did you notice, what symbols or ideas were expressed, what dialogue inferred a position of ideaology or concepts, etc. Print out and turn in on Tuesday May 5th

Homework for Tuesday, March 24th

We just watched a dvd on Postmodernism. You have a full week to look at and/or hear something that is clearly a Postmodern idea or concept in regards to its worldview. Whether it be in music lyrics, a book, a commercial, a tv show or a movie. I want three examples. If you can one from a tv show, a movie and a song or from a book or commercial. If you do not watch tv then from the other choices. Be aware of what is being said or depicted in your viewing and/or listening. Write a clear paragraph on each one of your acknowledgements of said inference of Postmodernism. I just watched one in the new series "The Flash" on the CW network. Clearly a postmodern view and acceptance.
Your book reports are due on the 25th as well; end of quarter.

Follow up on last posting

Reminder to those who neede to report on the Presidents speech but didn't complete it. Listen to Benjamin Netinyahu's speech this last week to Congress. I found it on you tube and it was the one posted by Michael Savage and was condensed to around 44 minutes. Report on his presentation and any substantive ideas on worldview he may have presented in the speech

Homework for Tuesday March 10

We watched Radical Environmentalism and at the end of the segment on page 258 of the Student Manual are five essay questions to be answered. In addition I want research on how many environment groups you can find. their mission, current status, where they're located, when they were founded, who's the ceo or president, and any pertinent info. type up that list and bring it with the other homework. Also be aware that the final book report is due March 24. Have a book in mind that is controversial ( Hitchens, Saul Alynski, Richard Dawkins, Depak Chopra. Sam Harris, David Spangler. etc.

Homework for Tuesday March 3rd

We watched the dvd series on Abortion and the Case Against it. Following along from page 219-223
there were slots to answer in the student manual that were completed and can now help you answer the five discussion questions on page 224 of that section. Answer completely and thoroughly and turn in on Tuesday

No Homework till Thursday, FEb 26

We will finish the movie; "Logans Run". You will then write up your observations and clarify them on paper as to what worldview ideas and or concepts were presented in the movie. This will be due Thursday Feb 26th

SORRY, got busy and lost track of time!! Thursday's homework is to look at and review the three kinds of evil we looked at on video and discussed and report on thr three using some form of media or personal experience and explain how, as a Christian and a person you should handle or view it.

Homework for Tuesday Feb 10

I am writing this to clarify why I do movies in class and have you critic them. We live in a pop culture age. From music, tv shows, fashion, advertising, concerts, books and comic books, to movies. Whether we like it or not the culture and pop culture effects us all the time. Our interactions with others, our taking in of info from friends and general media, etc. I want you, the class, to be able to see when something is "creeping" into that brain of yours and be able to identify it as friend, foe or neither. It is hard to find movies to every ones liking and have enough content in it to be able to identify these markers of worldview position. I will present a list below and you may look at the list and go over it with your parents and se if we can come to an agreement that is suitable for all of the Worldview class. Thank you for thoughtful consideration.
Almost all the movies can be looked up on the app IMDb. This site will have reviews as well as parent caution as it pertains to the questionable content that gives the movie its said ratings.
