Secular humanism

now onto our second worldview. We just started on the Theology and Philosophy of this worldview. Read all the other disciplines under this Worldview for class discussions next week and the following. Don't just skim over it! I will expect some responses in class as to what you can recall on this worldview. Know something about it before we go on and view the dvd's as well.

Homework for Thursday 26th

Out of the student Workbook Page 128-134 What Is Darwinism?
Answer the Ten (10) Essay questions at the end of this reading.

Law/Christianity

We finished on Thursday with the idea that the State could steal. The question or statement that the book made towards the end of the chapter was this; Could you really defy the state if you knew it was against God? So much so that you would be put to death! This is an extreme position but try and at least look at the understanding that maybe you would go to jail for a belief that contradicted a law.
This is an essay response. Try and explain in detail what the law is and possibly why and or how it came about. Then explain according to you belief or faith why you would defy this ruling. Three paragraphs should be sufficient. This is due Tuesday 24th

Homework for Thursday 9/19/13

Looking at the section on Critical Thinking out of the Workbook choose Three of your favorite Logical Fallacies and write a scenario that is different from the examples from the book.Equivocation, Ad Hominem, Appeal to Ignorance, Begging the Question, etc. Write up new examples for three of them and turn them in on Thursday.

Workbook; Critical Thinking pg. 72-84

At the end of this section there are essay question to answer regarding this section on Critical Thinking. There are 30 question immediately following the reading of this section. Answer in essay fashion only these: 3,4,6,7,11,15,16,18,19,21, 23,24,28, and 30.

We will continue with the dvd on Christianity and furthering the understanding of the disciplines from where we left off last week. Note taking is strongly suggested.

Homework for Thursday 9-12-13

Continue to read out of the text UTT and continue to read Christianity and it's principles from the Disciplines that are to follow. Ethics, Biology, Psychology, Sociology, Law, Etc. We will view more of the video that covers these disciplines from a Christian point of view.

Homework for the Weekend of the 13th we will focus on Critical Thinking from the Workbook.
Pages 72-83 This is a very important section to try and grasp and understand as to debating your stance.
