Thursday's homework Nov.21

After reviewing the movie I Robot, I want you to type up at least five responses for any dialogue heard, scene viewed, action implied, that would indicate a worldview of humanism or post modernism. this would be a repeat description and then a full response as to why and what you noticed that would indicate said view.

Homework for Tuesday Nov 19th

Will finish movie but start on Marx Leninism so we can discuss on Thursday. This will be from the text and disciplines starting from theology and going through all of them by Next Thursday. Look at another book in which to start reading for the next quarter report/project. Decide by next Thursday the 21st

Homework for Thursday Oct 31

No additional homework except for those whom I talked to about bringing in missing work. Grades are due Thursday, end of quarter. Book reports are due and books returned to me for those who borrowed them to report on. Standard report format. Cover page, full report as it pertains to book and the disciplines that we have learned in regards to Christianity. Needs to be two pages of text to be thorough.

Homework for Tuesday Oct. 28

Just as was done before in previous work book exercises within each discipline you will answer the five questions under each discipline and under Post Modernism. Example on page 38 Theology 1.6
there are five questions to answer. Disregard the fifth question because you already answered it. then go to page 62 and do the same under Philosophy 2.6 Do this to the remaining disciplines under Post Modernism. Just the five questions regarding all the disciplines. 3.6,4.6,5.6,6.6,7.6,8.6,9.6,10.6

Homework for Thursday Oct. 24

A recap of assignment from pages 78-79 in the text. This is the story or poem from Nietzsche, The Madman and the Lantern. Read it and analyze it the best you can. This is a bit of interpretation and deconstruction of the story. Bring into it your Christian view as well. Look seriously at each paragraph and try to relate what he is saying using metaphors, analogies, etc. Give me in written form a really in depth understanding and interpretation of certain statements that are written in the story. Do your best and have a little philosophical fun with this. Should be at least a full page of written understanding.

The two quizzes given are the only homework to be turned in. The quiz on Sec Humanism and the one on the past two dvd's watched in class on biology and evolution.

Homework for Tuesday Oct. 15th

Continue in the workbook on the sections on Christianity and answer the five question on each discipline at the end of the sections. This is a continuation of the last   assignment but o now to finish the remaining seven disciplines. Page 119; 4.1, Page 139; 5.1, Page 161; 6.1, Page 193; 7.1, Page 217; 8.1, Page243; 9.1, Page 279; 10.1

Homework for Tuesday Oct. 8th

As well as continuing the reading on Secular Humanism look at your workbooks under the section "Principles of a Christian Environmental Ethic" Read the section and then answer the questions at the end of this section. There are 10 questions. Type them out.

Homework for Thursday Oct 3

We are now moving into Secular Humanism. the assignment is to watch/observe a tv show or program between now and Thursday. Look for any dialogue or scent in which a Secular Humanist view is given or exchanged. Mark and write down the show's title, describe the scene and characters and write down the exact dialogue and describe in detail the exchange to show what Secular Humanist view was presented in the show.

now onto our second worldview. We just started on the Theology and Philosophy of this worldview. Read all the other disciplines under this Worldview for class discussions next week and the following. Don't just skim over it! I will expect some responses in class as to what you can recall on this worldview. Know something about it before we go on and view the dvd's as well.

Answer the Ten (10) Essay questions at the end of this reading.

Law/Christianity

We finished on Thursday with the idea that the State could steal. The question or statement that the book made towards the end of the chapter was this; Could you really defy the state if you knew it was against God? So much so that you would be put to death! This is an extreme position but try and at least look at the understanding that maybe you would go to jail for a belief that contradicted a law.
This is an essay response. Try and explain in detail what the law is and possibly why and or how it came about. Then explain according to you belief or faith why you would defy this ruling. Three paragraphs should be sufficient. This is due Tuesday 24th

Homework for Thursday 9/19/13

Looking at the section on Critical Thinking out of the Workbook choose Three of your favorite Logical Fallacies and write a scenario that is different from the examples from the book.Equivocation, Ad Hominem, Appeal to Ignorance, Begging the Question, etc. Write up new examples for three of them and turn them in on Thursday.

At the end of this section there are essay question to answer regarding this section on Critical Thinking. There are 30 question immediately following the reading of this section. Answer in essay fashion only these: 3,4,6,7,11,15,16,18,19,21, 23,24,28, and 30.

We will continue with the dvd on Christianity and furthering the understanding of the disciplines from where we left off last week. Note taking is strongly suggested.

Homework for Thursday 9-12-13

Continue to read out of the text UTT and continue to read Christianity and it's principles from the Disciplines that are to follow. Ethics, Biology, Psychology, Sociology, Law, Etc. We will view more of the video that covers these disciplines from a Christian point of view.

Homework for the Weekend of the 13th we will focus on Critical Thinking from the Workbook.
Pages 72-83 This is a very important section to try and grasp and understand as to debating your stance.
